During FWPS' DiscoverU Week, October 12-16, 2026, all scholars in grades PreK-12 will participate in activities to explore college and career pathways available in our region. Each day, schools will lead activities aligned with the daily theme.  

The theme for Friday, October 16, 2026, is Flash Forward Friday. Students are encouraged to think about the future. Some activities may include vision boards, writing letters to their future selves, and more!

Please check in with your child’s school to learn more about how they are participating in the week!

✅ Speak with reps from colleges, universities, and training programs 
✅ Attend engaging workshops on financial aid, college apps, and career prep 
✅ Complete key portions of the High School and Beyond Plan 
 
This event supports Goal 5 of our strategic plan: High School Graduation through Successful Transitions.

Scholar-Led Conferences/No School

Families are critical partners in each scholar’s learning.

A Scholar-Led Conference is different from a traditional parent/teacher conference. The purpose of a Scholar-Led Conference is for children to summarize their strengths and next steps for learning based on their individual work and achievement data. Scholars and families should leave the conference on the same page about individual strengths and areas of focus.
